By A wonderful, fun service that captures the historical authenticity of Ballarat and helps people “make a date with history” for their own black & white, retro-styled photographic portrait. The initial venue is Ballarat Tramway Museum, where we shoot in and around a lovingly restored tram they pull out for us into the park, and are there each Saturday from 2:30pm to 5pm. You can ask for a session outside that time though if you’re intending a spend of over $100, and we can photograph you at any place of historical interest in Ballarat, making you look like you are there a generation or more ago.

We recommend people come dressed for the occasion, but on Saturday afternoons at the Tramway Museum, some drivers and conductors uniforms are available to hire for a gold coin donation.

This service adds some real fun to a really interesting and enjoyable historical tourist attraction, and provides a lasting personal memento for the customers.

We publish all sessions to social media, and do our printing during the week after the session. Ballarat locals can pick up their prints from us the following Saturday at the Tramway Museum, and we mail artwork to customers who aren’t able to pick up the next weekend.

Our prints are fantastic! I investigated old film and photographic papers so we could come up with an authentic but quality look for our customers. We produce small to medium prints on gorgeous SIHL Masterclass Lustre photographic paper (up to A3+), or on Matte Fine Art paper for large prints.

So come to Ballarat, and when you do, call ahead to “make your date with history” for a fun and unforgettable retro-portrait experience!
