She’s a gorgeous girl (Nelly). She’s a real people person and really enjoyed her Four Foot Fotos portrait session.

I had the privilege of sitting with yet another dog lover today and looking through the images I’d prepared after the portrait shoot. It’s a wonderful thing to hear “wow”, “amazing”, “isn’t she beautiful” and other terms of endearment to their dog or delight at the images. The enjoyment I get to share with the dog owners is a real factor in my sustained commitment to pet photography.

So, as I said, Nelly is a gorgeous girl. Ebony ordered a nice big centrepiece photograph, and an A4 to go one each side. I’ve now got the prepare the selected images for large format printing with subtle enhancements, double checks on exposure, contrast, saturation etc, and sometimes a bit of accenting the eye colour, blackening the nose (especially on older dogs) or even subtly blurring selected parts of the background more.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow of Nelly’s images. The Ballarat Botanical Gardens is such an asset for us here in Ballarat, and the flowers and rotunda made a really special backdrop for Nelly.
