Kingston Beach is a priceless shot. It is on a lovely stretch of coast. The road comes right along the beach and it is well frequented… except for when the weather is not good! There are occasional days the beach is empty and people look on from the cafes across the road.
This beach is always beckoning to be photographed, but it takes the right day (and people must be absent too).
Late on a day in June, they all must have retreated to the cafes, leaving the beach to be captured, with some colourful cars decorating the fringe. I love the way the waves break on the sand – it reminds me of lace. You can also see the seaweed being pulled back and forth by the water. This is one of my favourites and has been featured recently in Forty South Magazine (Winter 2024) and the Art Trails Tasmania exhibition at Fitzpatrick’s Inn.
