Stretch McLaren

I came across a McLaren sports car perched in a retail store in Melbourne. I just had to explore the lines!

What caught me most was not the bonnet or the rear of the car, but the way the door seemed to stretch the presence of the car when opened. Rules of composition like ‘Rule Of Thirds’ and ‘Golden Mean’ are grid layouts, and often the first thing I recognise, but there was nothing that hit me in that respect. Diagonals area always interesting! Let’s see what we can do with that!

This photo was framed so as to stretch the open door across the diagonal to make it express its length.

There was unfortunately no price tag on it, nor (and this really disappointed me) a test drive available. 😉
